Anyone watch it, I've seen some videos of it and I've been on an anime drought at the moment so I figured I'd watch it to get me back into anime. It is ongoing atm.

"To end his eternal suffering, he must slay one thousand enemies!" Manji, a ronin warrior of feudal Japan, has been cursed with immortality. To rid himself of this curse and end his life of misery, he must slay one thousand evil men. His quest begins when a young girl seeks his help in taking revenge on her parents' killers ... and his quest won't end until the blood of a thousand has spilled!

It's not on-going, it finished last year in december. I wouldn't bother with the anime - it's just another failed adaption, and a cliche samurai anime. Nothing special about it, I dropped it after episode two. Read the manga instead.

Blood and gore doesn't make a show good. The storyline isn't anything special either. Watch Sword of the Stranger for the best samurai anime! Or Samurai Champloo!

...or watch Baccano for one of the best anime series in general.

Not quite... The only harem I like is Da Capo, and Clannad and Shuffle are alright but thats about it. I don't have a favourite genre, I just generally like anime that has something original and exciting to offer.

Now thats taking it too far - some sword-related animes are just dire. :eusa_naug

I gave it a try - it sucked.
Main character = lifeless, monotonic and cliche.

Kenpachi couldn't be more energetic, how can you call him lifeless? Monotonic? No, he speaks with passion and madness, plus he has the same voice actor as Hasegawa so that deems him a total legend right there. Kenpachi's character is quite cliche, but Kenpachi is the perfect example of a total badasses who just wants to fight. He sets an example for all the other cliche characters following him - he is at the top!

Anyway, you should really watch Gintama for some nice blood and gore!
