    Default Thursday's Games

    Who's your team playing?
In the UEFA Cup we've already seen Villa's european dream ended, as Zhirkov & Love, the two most highly rated players in CSKA Moscow's side scored in the second half to give the Russian side a 3-1 aggregate win and a 2-0 win on the night at the Luzhniki Stadium - the same venue where Manchester United beat Chelsea in last year's Champions League Final.
Also in the UEFA Cup, Spurs & City are both drawing 0-0 at HT in their second leg ties against Shaktar Donetsk and FC Copenhagen. Here's a full list of tonight's UEFA Cup results & current scorelines (British teams in capitals, and the teams through to the next round are in bold and red).
    CSKA Moscow (3) 2-0 (1) ASTON VILLA - FT
    Metalist Kharkiv (3) 2-0 (0) Sampdoria - FT
    Hamburg (4) 1-0 (0) NEC Nijmegen - FT
FC Twente (1) 0-1 (1) Marseille - AET (not sure of winner)
    Wolfsburg (1) 1-3 (5) Paris St Germain - FT
    Galatasaray (4) 4-3 (3) Bordeaux - FT
AC Milan (3) 2-0 (1) Werder Bremen - SECOND HALF
    Ajax (1) 0-0 (0) Fiorentina - SECOND HALF
MANCHESTER CITY (2) 0-0 (2) FC Copenhagen - SECOND HALF
    Standard Liege (0) 0-0 (3) Braga - HT
Stuttgart (1) 0-1 (3) Zenit St Petersburg - SECOND HALF
    Udinese (2) 0-1 (3) Lech Poznan - SECOND HALF
    St Etienne (4) 1-0 (1) Olympiakos - HT
Deportivo La Coruna (1) 1-3 (4) Aalborg BK - HT
    TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (0) 0-0 (2) Shakhtar Donetsk - HT
    Valencia (1) 0-0 (1) Dynamo Kiev - SECOND HALF

In the FA Cup 5th Round, Hull City and Sheffield United are level at half time after a Billy Sharp's 32nd minute goal for United cancelled out Kyle Naughton's OG in the 24th minute.

Sorry for double post but it looks as if AC MILAN are on their way out of the UEFA Cup - as Werder Bremen have come from 2-0 down on the night to draw level 2-2, 3-3 on aggregate and with Bremen having one more away goal, they WILL go through if it stays this way.
Spurs are also heading out if they don't score in the next 10 minutes to take it to extra time against Shakhtar Donetsk, meanwhilst as it stands Manchester City will be the only English team to progress from the Round of 32, as they lead FC Copenhagen 2-0 thanks to a double from Craig Bellamy in the 73rd & 80th minute.

Sorry to see Tottenham & Villa go out, happy for Manchester City, they better do England proud in the cup

although, I thought Villa could have gone all the way in this one .

Same, it's a big shock to see Spurs & Villa go out. However then again - Spurs didn't play their strongest side and Villa did come up against a fantastic team in the form of CSKA Moscow.
If anything I thought City would be the team from England going OUT - but I'd like to see them progress well in this competition now and I think they have a great chance.

    No more challenging teams left.

Decent looking tie they have next against Aalborg, who saw off Deportivo impressively 6-1 on aggregate.
    Never know .
