Can you drink alcohol with braces?

I just got my braces and I was told not to drink fizzy drinks etc, but they didn't say alcohol, i dont want to wreck my braces because i've been waiting ages for them, so is it ok to drink alcohol with braces (train tracks) on?

You can drink fizzy drinks too. If you take care of your teeth properly just drink what you want.

They won't wreck your braces. Its just if anything gets stuck behind them and slowly starts destroying the tooth (i think anyway )
I mean, I drank stuff like that and nothing bad ever really happened

I ate and drank everything bar chewing gum when I had braces. Just clean your teeth properly and thoroughly using the appropriate 'tools' such as the proper brush you get for braces. I also bought a proper dentists tool thing to get into the nooks, but be careful that you don't break the wire.

The only thing that breaks the braces are hard foods & bubble gum.

Chewing gum is FINE (aslong as u dont push it into the braces).

I've been drinking fizzy, beer, alcopops & shots throughtout my treatment, and my orthodonist hasnt said a thing

i think as long as its not alcohol chewing gum it should be fine.
