Xp lamps with slayer help

Ive seen this around alot and ive been wondering, why do people use xp lamps to get to 99 slayer? is it quick with them or something, and is there a easy way to get them?

To get an untrimmed slayer cape perhaps, or just because it's a slow skill to raise?

They might be a level 3 skiller, and not want to get any combat skills up

If your a level 3 skiller, I think one of the only ways is to level it up using lamps.
Or, some people might use it because Slayer is a slow skill, so it helps.

But it's not a fast way to level Slayer - the best way is just to finish your assignments.

Yep, and doing both would speed it up, just choose slayer for every xp lamp/xp book you get from randoms.
