Thread: advice? :)

  1. #1

    Default advice? :)

right yeahhh, made an account just to post this cause don't really want people knowing all my biz.
    but yeah

i have an array of mental issues (ha) and in the summer, a supply doctor (i think they're called locams?) put me on a tablet called paroxetine, which was like a proper controversial anti-depressant in america, because it has such diverse side-effects. also it's not usually given to under 18's (i was 17 at the time).
anyway, when my dose ran out, i went to the doctor's to get a repeat prescription obviously & my normal doctor told me they wouldn't give me the drug because of the side effects. and put me on srxt (prozac).

the thing is, i felt the difference on paroxetine, on the prozac. it just feels like nothing's changed. but the doctors won't give me the paroxetine.

i don't know what to do & how to approach the doctor's on it.
    does anyone have any ideas?
because even though the doctors don't want to "risk" it, i was perfectly fine on it & i was getting better.

    +rep on my other account.

have you tried telling your parents about this? they might be able to approach the doctors for you if you explain how you think the paroxetine was working much better than the prozac is..

I've pretty much quit Habbo & Habbox, but I still stop by every once in a while. If you knew me, send me a message saying hi, and I promise I'll get back to you! Miss all you wonderful people who saved me from boredom all those years.

yeahh, my parents know all about it, but because i'm 18, the majority of doctors expect the main "push" to be from me.

Just keep pushing and tell the Doctor's what you've told us. If that fails you could probably turn to the black market it's just you never know the purity of their drugs.

Explain it fully, get stressy with them.

Or you could try to locate the doctor who prescribed it to you?
