What are usernotes?

BEFORE
Usernotes was the old system used by the Forum Staff prior to 3.6.x forum.

The system was based on a moderator creating a log of the offences committed by a user in their usernotes. This however had a disadvantage as if the forum member was not contacted personally by a moderator for that offence then they were ignorant to it and would continue to break the same rule resulting in a surprising ban for the user.

Usernotes are no longer used to log rule breakages for users as we have now moved on to the infraction system.
AFTER
Usernotes are used by (Super) Moderators and Administrators to record Private Messages that have been sent to the member regarding any rule breaking that has been committed.

For example:

You double post and a (Super) Moderator notices this offence. They then send you a PM to you of what rule you have broken and they will then post this in the usernotes for future references.

However, if you have already been contacted regarding the same offence you will either get a warning for straight infraction depending on the infraction Option

BEFORE
5 Infractions (active) lead to a temporary ban. 10 Infractions (active) lead to a permanent ban.
After
This is the type of bans that you get once you reach a certain number of infractions.

5 Points Cautioned for 7 days
6 Points Banned temporarily for 1 day
7 Points Banned temporarily for 2 days
8 Points Banned temporarily for 3 days
9 Points Banned temporarily for 4 days
10 Points Permanent ban

However, you could get banned sooner then you think! This all depends on how serious the rule breaking is like; spamming the forum and/or posting unacceptable pictures around the forum.

Where can I see my usernotes?

BEFORE
You can not see your usernotes, only an administrator and super moderator can.
AFTER
You can not see your usernotes, only an administrator and (super) moderators can.
