    Default HDD Problem

Well I am re-installing windows as it has seemed to wipe itself of the computer. So I have inserted the Windows Vista disc, then entered all of the information prompted (Serial, Language etc.), but when windows is installing it doesnt write, and doesnt make any progress. So im thinking a wire, or a fault in the HDD is causing this.

Does anybody know if this could happen, or seems like the problem before I take it to PC world.

    Model - Toshiba Satellite L300D
OS - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit

    Thanks,
    Jake.

If you have a free partition (Toshiba usually make 2 partitions, os and data) then use one and install linux to see if the hdd works then if it does then its the vista disc or its just taking its time.
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.
