    Default Iphone problem

Ok, I may be fixing a friends iphone, I just want to know if anyone has had any similar problems.

It's basic problem is that it has been dropped a few times and it crashes randomly, sometimes the screen doesn't work e.g the tapping.

Any help appreciated, and any solutions?

No, I'm getting the phone off a friend, it's on 2.2. It hardly turns on at the best of times.

Just restore it, he's probably had loads of applications on it, plus emails both slow them down, also make sure there is no visible damage as you claim it hardly turns on, that might mean the button doesn't work properly.

Ok, she said that someone tried to ring her and it just froze, she could not touch to answer or anything. I will check the phone if she brings it tomorrow. Is there a way to restore it completly through a computer that may help?

And how would I go about jailbreaking it? oh and does it need to be unlocked from contract? I'll be using an o2 sim so it doesn't matter.

For restore do it via iTunes, just google restore iPhone and it tells you all you need to know for jailbreaking, go to modmyi.com for tutorials but for applications go to blog.iphone-dev.org and also use google for tutorials.
