    Default Maths question help.

The answer is probably really simple and I'm just being dumb but I can't get this question!

"Write one million and one hundredth in decimals"

    I just can't do it

Here is the column headings if people need it:

Hundreds Tens Units | Tenths Hundredths Thousandths

    One million is 1,000,000
    One hundredth is 0.01

    1,000,000 + 0.01 = 1,000,000.01

1,000,000.01 is a million and a hundredth. Unless you're talking about 1/1,000,000.01 which is 1 divided by 1,000,000.01 but I don't think that's the case.

Okay, here's how to prove that my answer is correct:

If the question wants one million and one hundredths, then it would ask for one million and one hundredths. However, the question wants one million and one hundredth, meaning that it wants one million + one hundredth. Otherwise, "hundredth" would be in the plural form since one million and one is more than one whereas one is singular.

    That answer is correct.
Technically it would read as 'one million point zero one'. But it is equivalent to one million and one hundredth.
