Can any1 sort out my problem please

Rite my hdmi for my playstation 3 decided it didnt want to work today my hdmi cable was in nothing had been touched soo now i need that hdmi setting thing to come up at the beggining when i first turn on my ps3 but ive tryed like 100 times to get it to come up and it isnt soo any1 got any ideas ?

set up the cable into the tv and all that. have the ps3 on standby, then hold the power button until it beeps at you, then let go.
it'll power up normally and should say a hdmi cable has been detected
