Some changes in the news

For as long as I can remember, real life news on the forum has always been posted in 'Worlds News, Politics, Religion & Philosophy'. One of the longest forum names there is and slightly meaningless.

Lets break it down;
World News - Basically means 'Important International News', this is usually posted there.

Politics - Virtually always falls under 'World news' as generally only current Politics affecting the World News is discussed.

Religion - Rarely spoken about in the section unless it happens to be in the news. Generally all religion based threads are made in 'Discuss anything'.

Philosophy - Rarely posted anywhere on the forum but again, in 'Discuss Anything' if anything is posted.

My proposal is to rename the forum 'Current Affairs' which is a much shorter and more meaningful name, this could then cover all important news and Politics.

And then to create another forum which covers something along the lines of Tabloid news, Entertainment news and Celebrity news (I can't think of a forum name which sums this all up). These types of news should be separated from the 'Current Affairs' for obvious reasons, different types of people are interested in different things. It's rather clear from looking in the Discuss Anything section and World News that there's a lot of demand for Tabloid etc news and this sometimes causes threads to be moved and this causes confusion.

Another suggestion I have is to added the 'Football Team' field to profiles, much like you can have Habbo Names, Runescape Names, Xbox Live Gamertags etc. Main reason for this is because the Sports section is just as big as the gaming and runescape sections and because users regularly say in threads 'My team' and if they don't show in their avatar or signature which football team they support it's difficult to tell. I'd implement this by only showing the 'Football Team' alongside posts, location, gender etc within the Sports section. If you don't see what I mean, in the Xbox Live section it displays your 'Gamertag' (If you have one) next to your posts etc yet in other sections it doesn't
