Hey i got Iphone and im going over my contract on texts around £40 exter a month....

Is there and working free sms apps or do you know how I can do this?
I saw a few on the net but they dont work for numbers in the uk.

If anyone can help, that would be nice....

I'm not sure if this will work in the UK, but if you have a browsing plan you can register a Yahoo e-mail account. On mine, it let me send mail via textmessage for free.

I can send 15 free texts via the internet from my provider sites (its not 160 signs and with some advertisement in it).

I don't think there is an app available to do this at the moment, but you may just want to go on cbfsms.com on safari and do it from there if you need to send a text without using your allowence.
