    Default water spilled on laptop

yeahh. it happened. it was only on the left side of the keyboard anyway.

its been in the airing cupboard forr 3 days now. the laptop itself turns on, but the screen wont. dell quoted 200 pounds and a 14 day wait for it, butt theres a few computer specialists round here that will fix it for less.

i know it damages my warranty, but its only got likee 3 weeks left of it anyway.

Take of the frame and make sure the screen is plugged in, because if you dropped it theres a chance the screen wire could have unplugged.

If it is the water that has damaged it then try and dry inside the laptop - if it still wont work then you best off getting a computer shop to do it because in my opinion Dell is too expensive and too long to wait.

Take it to a computer shop and get it done there and then and it'l cost around £60.00.

Make sure everything is plugged in. If it is, the water messed with the screen to motherboard connection, and you'll have to get it fixed.

Even if it is dry, the water has already done the damage.

My old laptop was indestructible, it had water and beer spilt over it countless times, and always worked perfectly, even when I threw it. As long as you don't turn it on until it's completely dry, it usually works perfectly.

As your screen won't turn on, the water has probably already done the damage, so it doesn't matter if you dry it or not now.
I suggest you just go to the local specialists because it's cheaper, just make sure you check out the company first, you don't want them causing even more problems with it.
