First godfather 40 mins in, its alright no fighting yet

Can't see what's to like about these movies, personally I think they're terrible, they have no real appeal to them, most people that obsess over these movies only do it because everyone else acts as if they're the best movies ever made, they're crap to be totally honest, good story maybe, good actors but what's the point if it's not entertaining, kind of kills the point really.

Anybody who likes a good mobster flick such as Scarface or Goodfellas will appreciate the Godfather films. If, however, you are watching the Godfather only to see fighting/action you aren't going to be too amused.

I agree with you here. I love Goodfellas and really that's the one with all the action in (well not full blown)

Never seen Goodfellas but Scarface was alright, I just don't see what's so great about Godfather, the story and actors are the only appealing things.

Grossly overrated. The first contains so many non-plot driven scenes that are totally unneeded and completely destroy the pace of the film. The second is great, however, a totally different film compared to the original. The third also tops Part I.
