Default Touch Screen PC/MAC Reccomendations required!

    Hey there,

With a new job i've undertaken i need a pc with touch screen, because its inventory management etc. I've been provided with a laptop, which is ok, but not touch screen - So im going to buy a touch screen pc/laptop (ideally laptop)

I really want another mac, but im not sure you can get touch screen mac books etc. I've seen a HP With touch screen and it's quite nice, but i'd like to see if any one has any other suggestions.

    Paying up to about £1500

+rep to helpful ideas & suggestions

Well there's various models of the HP Touchsmart you've mentioned for the desktop and they also do a touchsmart laptop for around £800.

Beyond that I don't know what there is, Asus EEE make a desktop touch-screen but it's rather small, cheap and nasty specs.

You won't be able to get the touch screen working on the Mac OS as they'll be no drivers or software for it. There's a small chance that a third party has managed it but I doubt it.

Edit: It has been done but it's not good enough to be actually usable: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/11/05/mac-o...smart-kind-of/

Mod book - But it kinda sucks a bit.

I'd probably use the mac facilities with the mouse & keyboard as it'd be a partition. I mean the software i use at work is only compatible with PC so that'd work fine.

Also the TV tuner wouldn't work in OS X if your thinking along those lines ;P

You could wait and see if the Apple netbook rumors are true?

Lol dang! cheers for the help. I mean net books are specifically designed to be small? I'd ideally like a good size screen i mean the HP is 25.5 Inches, which is nice and big, just not portable, and some features wont work with MAC OSx

But do the rumours include the netbook will be touch screen or anything?
