Games for windows?

ok, so i just registered the gamertag c0rruptz at http://www.gfw.com/en-us/live/pages/livejoin.aspx, I have call of duty 5 on pc which has the games for windows banner on it. Can I get achievements/gamer points for my gamertag on the game? Like on of the achievments is Complete 'Ring of Steel' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only) which is worth 30g, if I complete that on the pc would I get the gamer points on my profile, showing on my signature:

im well confused lol
if not, is there anyway to get gamer points WITHOUT an xbox? I want to be prepared for when I actually buy one in July.

Yes you'll get achievements for it as long as it's a Games for Vista and Zune or w/e supported then when you unlock an achievement you'll get the points.
