Can you get a fine if your dog urine's on the street

Hey,

I know you can get a fine if your dog has a poo and you don't clean it up, but what happens if your dog urine's on the ground, are you meant to bring water with you and clean it up or just leave it?


I would generally just leave it but is that the correct thing to do?


If animals can do it and leave it, that's kind of hypercritical if a human being can't (not that i would, that's what urinal's are for, i do love a good pee in a urinal) anyway am i correct?

Good point, but see if a dog "urinate's" on a car tyre or like a neighbours wall could you get in trouble for that?

No you can't, you can't really stop your dog from taking a leak can you, but if they poo you have to put it in a bag and in the bin, piss on the other hand I doubt it.

The dog fouling laws specify 'faeces' specifically. A term which refers to waste products excreted from the anus.

If a dog defecates at any time on designated land and a person who is in charge of the dog at that time fails to remove the faeces from the land forthwith, that person shall be guilty of an offence unless—

(a) he has a reasonable excuse for failing to do so; or

(b) the owner, occupier or other person or authority having control of the land has consented (generally or specifically) to his failing to do so.

Pee therefore isn't covered and it's perfectly fine to allow your dog to pee on public property.

WTH! That seems to specify that it does not apply to pavements. That confuses me.
