Image effects

Hey, this is what I want:

FIRST

I have 2 copies of the same image, one in black and white, the other in colour.

I want an effect so if I roll over this image, it shows the colour image.

I want it so it fades smoothly.

SECOND

I will be using 1 image. (2 if must)

I want to know how to: When you hover over the image, it shows a border in a rectangle with rounded edges. (I also want to know how to do it with no rounded edges) However the image also needs top be faded out a bit when you are not hovering, basically number one with the border.
