It looks like Duke Nukem Forever will now be Duke Nukem ForNever...Shacknews is reporting that the veteran developer 3D realms is shutting down due to funding issues. This according to a "very reliable source". Of course, with the closure of the studio, most notably responsible for Wolfenstein 3D, Commandeer Keen, and Duke Nukem 3D, comes the demise of the long-awaited Duke Nukem Forever, which was first announced WAYYYY back in 1997.
Additionally, Take-Two has let it be known that it will retain the publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever while Apogee Software and Deep Silver retort with word that the upcoming handheld Duke Nukem Trilogy is not impacted by today's news and will release as scheduled.
Kinda sucks, eh?

If you read up on this more, it probably wasn't going to be able for another 5 years anyway, with the way the company was managing things. Companies fault.
