Because uTorrent is downloading.
It's priority is to download.
So instead of downloading the web page first, it will download the file.

So it uses a heap of your internet.

If you have a router that supports QoS or traffic shaping, give priority to normal web traffic. You can also do this via a business/enterprise class firewall.
