Default Markings on underside of MacBook? (White/Black)

    Hey,

Recently called up Apple to have my casing repaired after the upper and lower casing began to crack. Now the top was replaced without a hitch but the lower is a different story, they say that the bottom case will not be repaired as I have removed the markings from the lower case and therefore the damage to the lower case will be seen as accidental.

Now this is a load of crap, as nothing has been done to remove the markings and I am just trying to collect information whether anyone else who has a macbook either no longer has these markings or if they have faded away.

If anyone is unsure of what I mean, the markings such as the FCC logo etc.

It would be much appreciated if you could post an image of the underside of your macbook if your markings are no longer existant or have began to fade.

    Thanks!

Have you called apple up again or gone to an apple store asking what markings they are talking about? Also with the marking is your model number still there or has it faded beyond readable.

    They are on most products

I know it isn't an Apple product but they are just companies for proof of a valid product.
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

every laptop has it, it's just verification of the model number and type really.

All laptops don't have that junk on the outside. Apple displays the legal minimum on the outside of the case, same with the Dell Adamo.

    Here's mine (for the OP):

The markings are still there, despite receiving a wide and varied abuse on a daily basis. It's an autumn 07 MacBook.

I think some people missed the point of the thread haha. Simply, Apple have said that they wont fix the bottom case of my MacBook because the markings are no longer there (they are saying that I have intentionally removed them)

    Thank you Barmi

Spoke to the head genius at the Apple Store today and the guy entered extra details into my case notes, so whenever I want to get the bottom piece fixed I just have to head in and give them my serial number

So since everything has been resolved, I guess its thread closed.
