Can someone please explain what jail breaking is to a complete computer idiot ?
Can you explain the advantages and disadvantages and what you can do if your iPod is jailbroken ?

Jailbreaking means that you can modify all the system files basically.

Pros:
Get AppStore apps for free
Themes
Opensource Apps from Cydia
Unlock your iPhone etc etc

Cons:
Non really.

Opensource Apps from Cydia are the apps that random people make, the applications that aren't allowed on the App Store etc

There are plenty cons, if something goes wrong can't you completely brick the iPod?
Plus downloading certain things make it slow. And if you update your iPod, you have to wait until the jailbreak for the newer version comes out again.
