    Default New Portfolio/Company Layout

I'm thinking about making a designing and coding site, so if I go through with it I will hire some people.

Anyway what do you guys think of this design?

I'm sorry but if you're going to start a designing and coding company I would make sure that I had a sexy layout. Go looking around the web for some inspiration.

Currently the layout looks a little dodgy, but could probabaly be improved quite a bit of you play with the padding, margins and font's.

A 5px padding on your content zones and a a text size in the reigion of 0.9 - 0.8 em would probs improve the look of text too + maybe concider a differnt font-family
"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" often looks quite good IMO :p

Oh no dont worry about that stuff!
This is just an alpha demo, its nowhere near completion its just to give people an idea of the design.

But thank you very much for your Input, it is much appreciated

I don't like it. It looks really "bland"

Maybe because it hasn't actually got the content in there yet?

No, the layout is just bland. There is nothing to it? You've done what everyone has done and used that wooden grey background and added some opacity boxes. The logo is horrid and I can't even comment on the nav.
    Back for a while.

It seems that every thread that i make you come to it and flame me.
I absolutly love the logo, the nav will have images in it when i make the site.
I've tried to keep it simple.

I still love this layout and I will probably go forward with this project.

    [truth]

Horrible, horrible logo font. Horrible choice of red. Bland an 'common' layout.

    [/truth]

You need to take people's opinions on board if you are going to get anywhere near making this 'project' a successful one.

Logo's should be modern, sleek and sexual - not a standard free font with a bevel. Also make sure the colours that you choose are in harmony with your design - the current shade of red you have conflicts with the Grey wood background.

The background - is overused. If we all got a quid every time someone used it, we would be rich.

The layout in general, has no creativity. Its just a navigation, banner and a content box - if you compare that to other design sites you will know what I am talking about.
