I know you can connect your xbox directly to your PC monitor, but I think I read somewhere that you can connect your xbox to your PC, and then have a program which displays it then on your monitor, possible?

Nah that's something completely different.
Like the previous post says, a VGA Cable can be used to input directly to a PC Monitor however to connect it via the computer you'd need some sort of TV Card which accepts inputs. It would be really slow though so probably not advisable.
xbox fps is like 60 isnt it, so you'd need a input card which can take 60fps.
