    Default Stand Up and Ooooft...

Sometimes when I stand up I go really light headed and feel like I'm about to faint :S

For example, I'm sitting down on my computer watching a movie then I stand up and then I go really light headed..

Someone said it's something to do with "Hypertension"?

It'll be because you've been sitting/lying in a position for ages and suddenly change position so it's just reaction of the blood flow, it's gonna be even more likely to happen if you've been watching a screen for a while. If I go into a shower as soon as I'm up or have it too hot then I get the same feeling and my vision sometimes goes black, if it happens just hold onto the nearest thing and it should pass. I'd say it's pretty normal but you could be anemic like my brother was, he was really fussy with food so didn't get enough nutrients and lacked iron, making him dehydrated a lot and caused him to faint . If it happens all the time it's worth getting checked out. I really don't think it would be something like hypertension, it's just blood flow and everything but get it checked out if you're worried and don't sit in a space too long (Y)

If you stand up to fast it affects the blood flow to the brain which makes you feel faint / light headed.
Or could be that you're dehydrated, so drink some more water =D

What BritishTea said sounds about right to me. It'll be dehydration.

I never used to drink much really and I never ever drank water and I got those symptoms all the time.

    Drink more water
