JORDAN and Peter Andre were locked in a new battle over their children last night after a bitter bust-up over access.

Glamour girl Jordan let her estranged hubby take the kids for the weekend, and was furious when he gave them back early so he could rehearse a new album.

Singer Peter, 36, had previously complained he was not allowed to see them enough — and Jordan accused him of backtracking on a deal.

But Peter insisted childcare arrangements had been made by their lawyers and it was agreed in writing that he would NOT have the kids yesterday afternoon.

A pal said: “Pete wants to see much more of the kids. But he’s sticking to the agreement drawn up by the lawyers.” Jordan had to axe a trip to a Leona Lewis gig in London yesterday after Peter called to say he was dropping the kids off at 1pm.

Instead Jordan and pop pal Michelle Heaton had a last-minute barbecue for Junior, three, Princess Tiaami, 23 months, and seven year-old Harvey — her son by footballer Dwight Yorke.

Jordan, real name Katie Price, 31, also hit out over accusations that she was a “bad mother” and reports claiming she has stopped eating and was taking sleeping pills.

A close pal said: “Katie is tired of suggestions she either doesn’t look after the children enough or that she won’t let Pete see them as much as is fair.

“She dropped everything when Pete called her and changed the arrangements.

“What’s odd is that Peter had been moaning he didn’t see the kids enough, then when he gets the chance he hands them back to Katie.”

The friend blasted reports that Jordan is cracking up under the strain of the split, saying: “She is livid about these claims, which are categorically untrue.

“Katie is not taking any pills. The suggestion of this and claims she is a bad mother are grossly unfair.

Jordan’s legal team, led by top barrister Fiona Shackleton, insisted Peter was supposed to have the children all weekend.

Peter has told his lawyers that custody is his top priority in the divorce. He is expected to seek full custody to ensure he gets them at least part-time.

This is just getting really stupid now. They are getting so much press attention just over their split up.

Yes I feel sorry for the children too, I watched Katie & Peter and thought they worked really well as a family and I think it is a shame they have split up.
