    Default CPU Cooling

    Hey there, one more week before I order my PC and this is my third thread (go me!) - Anyway, just wanted to do a quick questioning / suggestion session on what CPU cooler I should go for to OVERCLOCK.

    The CPU I am purchasing is the AMD X4 955 3.2Ghz, black edition, which I would like to overclock to atleast 3.6 - 3.8 Ghz or even more. The safe temperature is 62 degrees, but much lower would obviously be more safe and better for the PC overall.

    My PC will have a CPU cooler (obviously, but I need suggestions), a 120mm fan on the front and also a 220mm fan on the side (yes, 22cm!) Anyway, I need some suggestions on what CPU cooler I should be thinking of buying. This is my first ever build, so don't bother suggesting water cooling (I'm not that pro yet, hehe).

    Here is the current suggestion I have had from someone;
    The OCX Vendetta 2 AMD2+
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%****ler-...3177153&sr=8-1

    If you think this isn't good enough for overclocking or you know a quite cheap (25£ mark) CPU cooler, then post away =]

    I got my Q6600 to 3.6GHz stable with that CPU cooler so IMO its a good choice.

    I think I will go for it. Also, do you think it's worth spending £6.00 on that silver compound thermal paste? Apparently it's what everyone should use and I've seen some good reviews..

    Arctic Silver. Yes, it is worth it if you're serious about overclocking.

    I am serious, and £6 won't hurt the bank. Added to my final list, which somes in at £531. Thanks for the help guys.

    Also, you know the normal case fans, there are actually three I am buying for the case. One for the front (12cm), one for the side (22cm) and another for the back (12cm).

    I've heard that certain setups like one intake and two outake or whatever are always good for airflow, so can someone suggest what setup I can do. Btw, here is a picture of my case so you can see what I mean..

    Suck in at the front, blow out at the back and side.

    So your front and back fans will both be facing/blowing in the same direction.

    It blows from the side with the label and sucks from the non-label side.
