    Default Corrupt Disk 100000000000 messages

    k well i just installed IE8 and restarted comp

    now everything i open i get "Name here - Corrupt Disk" The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the Chkdsk utility on the volume C:.


    any way to disable these annoying messages

    i couldn't care less tbh and i'm not waiting 30 mins on a chkdsk to run.

    No you cannot disable them - for a good reason too, it can indicate, but not always, a device that is about to fail completly. Make sure you have good backups on any important data to be on the safe side.

    Run chkdsk and see what happens from there. Normally it is caused by the NTFS MFT (Master file table) is corrupted, chkdsk should be able to fix the MFT.

    Argh k.

    and i know what it does etc, i just can't be bothered wasting 30 minutes waiting on it to do a chkdsk.
