Default Greece want return of ancient sculptures

The long-awaited Acropolis Museum in Athens is to be unveiled later. The modern glass and concrete building, at the foot of the ancient Acropolis, houses sculptures from the golden age of Athenian democracy. The £110m ($182m; 130m euros) structure also offers panoramic views of the stone citadel where they came from. Culture minister Antonis Samaras said he hoped it would be the "catalyst" for the return of the Parthenon sculptures from the British Museum. Some of the sculptures, also known as the Elgin Marbles, originally decorated the Parthenon temple and have been in London since they were sold to the museum in 1817.
I'd tell them to go and stick it, do they not understand the meaning of 'sold' - it is like me selling you my pencil for 5p, the pencil becomes worth millions the next year and I demand it back. Knowing our country though, or if the European Union becomes involved, we'll give them back with no refund and will most likely also have to pay for the flight to take them back to Greece!

I don't think we should give them back at all. If the whole world had this attitude a lot of our museums would be empty!
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

That may well be true but the British Museum did say that Greece had no appropriate place to keep them and that was one of their main reasons for not giving them back. Now they have a decent place for the sculptures I wouldn't be surprised if they did get them back and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Don't bring the EU into this pls dan.
