Shouldn't have merged them together. So vastly different from each other.
We have to look at making the amount of Forums smaller to lower server loads and ensure the Forum runs smoothly. Merging TV and Movies is a calculated move in this direction. Although different TV and Film are related and are often put together as a category as a result of their relation.

Hm, I agree here. At least each have a sub-forum? It looks so messy already!
I'm sure the forums on their own didn't do much to slow speeds down. I've never had a problem. Look at the Technology forums, you've got Design and Development and Forum Designing as two individual forums.
Like the above said, it looks a mess. And I wouldn't like there to be a subforum because it'd most likely be film and it would somewhat isolate potential audience.
I agree, there are much, much less active forums which could have been merged/removed instead. As far as I am aware the TV forum was active, not sure about the movies forum though, but looking at the posting times now it seems as though the first page of threads would have at least been active within the past week in the movie forum. It will be confusing sifting through TV programs to find film threads, and vice versa, because people who are interested in films may not be interested in TV. Maybe some [TV] [Film] prefixes at least would help.
Prefixes wont help much as some people are far too lazy to use them, I think this was a bad move as I went to the films forum for films, I don't wanna go through the TV shows to find what I'm interested in, I'm not interested in TV shows, I don't feel I will use that forum much now.I agree, there are much, much less active forums which could have been merged/removed instead. Exactly. The main reason I visit these forums is for the Movies forum. I only ever check out the television forum when there's a thread title that catches my eye on recent posts. I have no interest in discussing TV, and having to physically sift through TV shows and film threads is going to put me right off.

I think that you are probably interested in the Arts side of the film industry - forgive me if I am wrong there. Maybe a suggestion would be to incorporate it into the the Writing and Literature Forum under the Visual Arts Umbrella.Exactly. The main reason I visit these forums is for the Movies forum. Just a personal thought.![]()
No, I just like to talk about film, and film is far more deserving of a spot here than television. It'd be totally unfair to segregate film.
There's no unmerge button...:eusa_whis
It costs nothing to be a good friend.
