dont start in the first place !!
um but serious, just cut down, maybe if you smoke 10 a day, cut down to 9, then 8, then 7 etc.....
Look at your bank balance and realise what you could do with the riches youd earn by not smoking.
something.
Didnt we have 1 of these threads about 5 hours ago?
And yeah thats what technique I done when quitting, cutting down on **** and saving more moneymotivated me.
It was agreed by several mods that it should be closed because it went a little too far off topic, but it was a valid topic and the user needed help so we made a new one.
Has anybody used like the patches & gum, what's that like?

I tried the gum its disgusting leaves a bitter taste in the back of your throat, i woudn't advise it unless you can handle stuff like that.. lol
The gum is awful, I spat it out because of the taste and didn't go back to it but started smoking again, patches don't stop your craving but if you smoke with it on it'll make you feel sick so it will probably help you stop if you have the will power to keep the patch, I ended up ripping them off after 3 daysThe inhaler is crap aswell.
I think best advice is stop hanging around with people that smoke for a while because that really did make me stop and when I hung around with them again afterwards I didn't feel like smoking & by reducing your amount weekly and smoking brands with lower nicotine. I only used to take out money that I needed so I wouldn't have extra to buy ****.
err well I tried the e-cigarette which was okay, but it doesn't really give you what you need so I stopped, haven't tried patches or gum
there was little we could say, and even less we could do, as the ice kept getting thinner under me and you
Well everyone is different and everyone will have a particular way of quitting. The NHS does have quite a lot of advice and techniques, but it's really just trying them until one fits. My mum was telling me that when she was quitting, an NHS advisor told her to start smoking again for the medication (chewing gum) to work and then she could quit, which in my and my mum's opinion is just about the most ridiculous thing to suggest, it may work for some, but my mum wasn't about to take that chance so didn't take the advice and just stuck to the gum she had and quit without taking it up again. She hasn't smoked in over 7 years. So my advice with that is just to try and if you don't agree with the technique, don't endanger your chances by following it, it's really your own way of using the technique that you're comfortable with which will prove to be most effective.
When you really want to quit smoking, some a cig, take it out of your mouth and look at the filter. That filter was white when you started, now look at it. It's all brown and disgusting. Thats how I quit!
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
