    Thumbs up Planned PC Upgrades.

    Hey all,

So at the moment my PC setup is as follows:

    System Specs

    CPU maker: Intel
    CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600
    Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP31-DS3L
    Bios: Award BIOS
    GPU maker: NVIDIA
Graphics Card: XFX GeForce GTS 250 512MB
    Memory: 4GB DDR2-5300 677MHz Overclocked to 800MHz
Hard Drive: Western Digital 320GB & Western Digital 250GB SATA
Optical Drive: DVD RW (Unknown Brand)
    Power Supply: Corsair 450W
    Display: 17" Dell SE178WFP & LG Flatron W2242T 22"
Case: ASUS TA-212 Silver Mid Tower Case
Sound Card: Realtek ALC888 codec High Definition Audio
    Mouse: Standard Laser Mouse
    Keyboard: Default Dell Keyboard
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

    Speeds

    CPU
    Stock: 2.40 GHz
    Memory
    Stock: 677 MHz
    Overclocked: 800 MHz
    Graphics Card - Core
    Stock: 738 MHz
    Graphics Card - Memory
    Stock: 1100 MHz

    Cooling

    CPU: Stock
    Graphics Card (GPU): Stock
    Memory: OCZ XTC Memory Cooling
    Case: Stock

So my planned upgrades are as follows:

CPU Cooling: OCZ Vendetta II (http://bit.ly/uoc4e) with MX-2 Thermal Compound (http://bit.ly/BQHGT)
Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout (http://bit.ly/aNn70)
Case Modifications: a few 120mm fans for the case (Side panel), red/blue neon lights and probably more (any suggestions?)
    PSU: Corsair 650W TX (http://bit.ly/15vk8Z)

Hopefully that will then satisfy the power and looks my PC. Next would then be some extra hardware such as extra HDD's, TV Card and etc.

So discuss what you think and tell me if anything would be changed. I am sticking to the case as I think it looks like a very nice case and will suite my needs perfectly.

    Cheers

Get an SSD in there for the OS and program files.

Cost too much at the moment. I'm fine with HDD's at the moment.

Huge performance increase though. Start at around £70. All you need is a small, fairly basic one.

I'm not all that into SSD at the moment. I just don't think they are worth the money at the moment.

Throw out the 650w TX PSU, get a Modular Corsair one from the HX range. For the case get a Lian-Li aluminium one, far far better than Cooler Master if you can afford it IMO.
