A man has been shot in the back of the head with an air rifle in central London, Sky Sources have said.


Police were called to the scene around 3.30pm


The incident happened on New Compton Street in Soho.
Officers were called to area shortly after 3.30pm to reports of a shooting.
They found a man at the scene with an injury to his head.
He was treated at the scene.
His injuries are understood to be minor and not life threatening.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said an inquiry was under way but no arrests have been made.
He said: "Police were called at 3.31pm today to reports of a man injured in New Compton Street.
"Local officers attended and found a man with head injuries. He is believed to have been shot with an air rifle.
"He is in a stable, non-life threatening condition and is being treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service."
