    Question CD/DVD Not working.

For some reason my CD/Dvd drive has just stopped working.

It wont play cds, dvds, games. All the drivers are up to date, but it still doesn't work. Also there seems to be no problems on device manager.

The only thing i know of that could of made it stop working is that i reformatted my pc, but it still says its working fine?

Anyone got some suggestions of what might make it works.

This is with the disk in the pc.

Drives are fine on here, but it still doesnt work.

Also when a cd is in, it sounds like theres a clicking noise..

It is broken. Simple as that. You'll need to RMA it or buy another one.

Sometimes things will just fail. A circuit or transistor may have blown. RMA involves sending the drive back to the manufacturer and they should replace it as long as it's still under warranty. If you bought the computer as a whole, you'll probably need to send the whole computer back to wherever you bought it from (dell, acer, HP e.c.t).
