    Default Split Ends?

I have really bad split ends, I dyed my hair a while ago and I think thats what caused it.
It's growing out, but can anyone suggest anything to help the problem?
And another thing, I want shiny hair. I take care of my hair and eat the right things but it's still not shiny. I know that dying hair will damage it make it lose it's shine but even the grown-out bits are dull.

Split ends can grow down your hair and into the shaft so it's best to deal with them quickly. Often getting your hair trimmed gets rid of them. Use intensive shampoos and conditioners to prevent them, likewise for shiny hair.
You can also get hair masks and sprays which will improve the condition and look of your hair. There's natural remedies like using mayonnaise or egg whites as hair masks or rinsing your hair with milk or black tea/coffee to bring out colour and shine, if you want to go down that route.

About the shine bit.. There are plenty of products that can help with that My personal favorite that I've been using for the last year or two is this bedhead shine stuff (link: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp83557_33...mist_spray.htm). Works amazingly, I just spritz some on my hair after I blowdry it and am about to head out and it definitely gets noticeably shinier.

The only thing that can get rid of split ends is getting them cut, you can use products to stop them getting worse, but that's the only thing. Often split ends make your hair look dull, but its probably dying your hair that has damaged the roots, so your new hair is growing in very dry too. The same thing has happened to me, two years ago I had my hair bleached and I've grown it all out, yet my roots are SOOO dry, it could be my bad diet, but still. Rubbish high street brands really won't sort the dull problem out.
Anyway, I've found this to be excellent

I can't remember what I was reading, probably some magazine but it basically said, the only way to deal with split ends is regular haircuts. Products just mask them but don't get rid of them.

well if your using loads of products on your hair to try to make it shiny, they all build up in your hair and actually make it duller. [ i used to have the same problem but i stopped using somany products] also straightening your hair causes split ends. the only way to get rid of split ends is to get your hair cut =[ i had 2 get 3 inches hacked off mine recently =[ i was so sad..

yeah trim it every month or so and deep condition it (keep a conditioner in for half an hour or so) every week and it should be fine. use products FOR coloured hair otherwise you'll find it dries your hair out and split ends form quicker. blow-drying + straightening without protection (lol) will cause more again aslong as you don't use too much product though

if you want shiny hair just massage the top of your hair with shampoo, add a little bit of water onto your fingers every few times you massage to build it into your hair and repeat it if you really want. you're probably washing your hair wrong or using the wrong shampoo that's like the biggest mistake really. so get it trimmed, use shampoos + conditioners for the right type of hair annnnnnnd treat your hair every so often.
