Default Mcdonalds hire stupid people on purpose!

Well I recently applied for a job at Mcdonalds and was invited for a 'group interview' at the main restaraunt. There were about 5 sessions with each group consisting of 10 people, so there was around 50 people applying for a job in differnet restaraunts
At the interview we were told just to briefly say something about yourself for about 1 minute and then we were told you will receive an email in the next few days which will tell you if you get through to ANOTHER interview.
Next day, I received an email saying I didn't get the job. I was literally shocked that I didn't get through to an interview. I'd had work experience before by working at John Lewis and I'm expected to get A's and B's in my GCSE's this month. I presented myself very well; dressing in a shirt, black trousers and some black shoes (unlike some people).
My friends also applied and didn't even get to the group interview with their grades similar to mine.
Honestly, Mcdonalds hire slow and stupid on purpose and only hire a few people who know what they are actually doing! The process of getting a job there felt like I was applying for a job at MI9 with the amount of things you had to do.
I wouldn't have minded as much if I got rejected at the actual interview, however, honestly this has knocked my confidence of ever getting a job in the Police if I can't get a job at Mcdonalds! And Burgerking.. well.. I'd kill myself if I applied and got rejected from there!

I know of a few people who got rejected from there but I got a interview and turned it down (due to getting another job within the weeks between the offer + the actual interview). They don't hire stupid people on purpose though, I suppose its about who presents themselves well and is confident.

Maybe the other applicants had better experience than you?
I'm sure they didn't just not hire you because you're not stupid enough.

Most of the applicants there were around the same age at 16 and 17 looking for a first time job to fit around there work, so wouldn't really have had any experience before. Even if they did, the only thing that was discussed at the group interview was just small things about you i.e are you at college, what are your hobbies etc. So how they can judge from that I don't know.

The job is fully flexible and so it would fit around college.

Your lucky if you find a job, regardless of your grades. You jump at any opportunity you can.
