    Anybody watched this?

Just got the copy today, so i watched it.

    What a great movie!

Its about a boy in a german military family, his dad is a soldier (like the commander of actions) and they get evacuated to the countryside, right next to a concentration camp, and the boy thinks its a farm and he goes there everyday and talks to this jew kid, and after a while this jew kid loses his dad, and the boy says he will help look for his dad..

I just saw the movie today and to be quite honest I was disappointed. It was good, don't get me wrong, but completely overrated. I couldn't take the movie as seriously as I would have liked to either, seeing as how it was fiction based on the actual Holocaust. Theres no way Jews in concentration camps would have been able to communicate with people on the outside for so long, if at all. I also didn't like how the movie turned out to be more of a family tragedy than anything else, although the message was clear. An okay film, but nothing when compared to the likes of Schindler's List and The Pianist. I felt those two films also had a much bigger impact. The BBC have also produced better Holocaust movies such as The Conspiracy.
