Default What is your opinion on this?

I've got my eye on this laptop:

From looking at it, it looks fairly decent but I'd like to know other people's opinion. I need a laptop because it would match my lifestyle perfectly - travelling too and from my dad's house, so would like something I can take with me. Do you think it will be good for gaming? How long into the future of games do you think I can use it for at decent settings? I'll be playing old games such as Counter-Strike and Half Life 2 and stuff, so that shouldn't be a problem, but for new games, I'm not so sure.

    Thanks.

Hmmm. Refurbish ones... I don't know. You never know what's happened when you buy something refurbish.. It's got warranty which is good if it's got a year or a bit longer on it.

In terms of gaming it's fine. Shouldn't be any problems with you playing any future releases that you may want to play.

For the same price range (ish) you may want to have a look at these:

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...ory_oid=-35054 AMD processor - Not bad for gaming owned 2 AMD Processors with the same spec and they run games perfectly.

Another £50 if you have it for this would be ok.

But do look around. You can easily fine something the same (New) or a little better.

Seems quite a good laptop, especially considering it has Blu-Ray and Wireless N.

Should play the older games fine but you're not going to be able to play current games on "Decent settings". You should just about be able to play most current games but it'll be on moderately low settings.

Edit: LOL CLOWGON what complete nonsense. Try play GTA IV on highest settings then tell us what you think.

Not a fan of Acer (anymore), but your choice would run decent games (even Sims 3, despite the processor). Samsung laptops are OK from past experience. Go for either of the Acers, though.

I highly recommend it, I have one myself ~ it will be able to play Half Life 2, I can play FM2009, and CM2009 on it and Flight Simulator. (even though it is slightly laggy.)

Thanks, but I currently have a 12.1" screen and even that is too small, so I am not going to downgrade to 10".
