Default WinTV stick integration with Media Center?

I've got a Hauppage WinTV Nova-T TV Tuner dongle. I couldnt get it to work through Media Center on Vista. Are there any specific drivers or anything I need to get it to work?

EDIT: It works absolultely fine on WinTV 2000 software, but I don't like the interface so would rather get it integrated with Media Center.

If Media Centre doesn't pick it up then it probably doesn't have the required MPEG 2 Hardware decoder that MCE needs.

err, right, is it easy to fix that? Cos if it doesnt work with MCE, I'm selling the stick tbh. I don't use it purely because of the WinTV software (and the rubbish DTV signal with that aerial that comes with it)

You can't fix it, it's a piece of hardware that has to be put on it in the factory

You don't need a hardware decoder for Media Centre as far as I know?

I'm pretty sure you don't as cheap cards which don't have a decoder will work on Media Cantre.

Got it wrong, encoder, not decoder.

Hmm I don't know what it means by "full advantages" but:

"However, Media Center Edition still has strict video requirements. To take full advantage of MCE’s features, a system requires a TV tuner with hardware MPEG2 encoding and a DirectX 9-compatible graphics card."

EDIT: Found some software decoders: http://www.tv-cards.com/messageboard...c.php?id=14508, dunno what they are like though.
