It's all ****** up.

Things started to go downhill a few months back when my mum decided to put another mortgage on her house in order to buy my sister a house. Now, my sister had been with her fiance for five years and my mum thought, like we all did, that they would be together forever. This was not to be.

The mortgage was 60,000 but of course that comes with intrest which made it 96,000. My mum bought my sister and her fiance a flat that cost around 58,000 in the hope that they would both be able to pay the rent with the money that they brought in. Things were going well until my sister decided that the relationship wasn't worth the hassle and moved out to be with someone else thus leaving only the fiance in the flat on his own.

He simply doesn't earn enough to cover the rent. He's only scrapped eighty five pounds in the past week and fifty pounds this week which means my mum will have to pay the rest herself. That wouldn't be a problem if my mum had enough money to cover for the situation. She doesn't. I've told her the sensible thing to do is to kick him out and get two or more people to move in so they can pay the rent. I mean, it's the only thing she can do!

The worst thing that can happen is that I lose my house. I've been here since 1993 and I'll be damned if anybody else will be living in my home but me. It's all ****** up.

Well if he can't pay the rent and theirs a risk where you could end up losing your house then there's only one solution. Kick the guy out.

Find someone/ or two ppl, couple w/e and rent the house out to them.

When you find someone make sure you get an agreement where they have to stay there for 6/12 months or so. at least your mum doesn't have to worry about finding money just in case the ppl who's renting it, decides to leave after a month or so.

I don't know nothing about houses but i'm guessing it will take longer for your mum to pay off her house that's she's living in right now, seeing as she's taken out a second mortgage on her house?

Kick him out. With so many people wanting to be housed, it will be very easy for you to find tennants.

Your mum could sell the other house and hope she can pay off the second mortgage without any penalties and then she will be done with that but then she is still left with the car which she is going to take a huge loss on like any other used automobile.

the only viable and obvious solution is to kick him out and find new tenants. or just attempt to sell and make do with a loss if no new tenants come along.

I've not mentioned a car once. She didn't buy them a car, lol.

The problem has been solved with my mum hiring someone that deals in houses. It's something like one hundred and twenty pound a year for the womans services and she has people queing up for two bedroom flats and she makes sure they pay the landlord (in this case, my mum) five hundred a month. We should be alright for now, thanks for the replies.
