He's received a three game for the "stamp" which was always going to happen. What is interesting is watching the FA ignore the ruling "If the referee notices it in the game and deals with it we will not change his decision". The referee felt that a red card was not needed and it could be dealt with by a warning (yellow card).
The stamp, fine. I don't believe it was intended because Van Persie came in with two feet however I can see why the majority of people believe he should be dealt with. Three games is fine by me considering he'll miss West Ham, Aston Villa and Wigan. If it counts for cup games he'll miss Fulham instead of Wigan. It must be noted that RSC will be just about fit in time for this.
Punishing him for the celebrating however is an outrage. The referee gave him a yellow card and according to the rules the FA wont alter the referees decisions. What is intresting is how the FA are not only looking into further bans but how they dealt with previous cases, Gary Neville against Liverpool for instance. He ran the whole length of the pitch to wind up the Liverpool fans and (I might be wrong) he didn't even score the bleeding goal OR was subject to racial chanting, he was given a £5,000 fine.
Anyway, this isn't the end to it. I'll quote "The club is considering its position in relation to both matters.". On the City OS it appears that he's just been charged with inproper conduct which will result in a fine for Ade.
Will be intresting to see how much evidence we have and how many sports lawyers we hire. The FA are clearly going back on a rule, it'll be intresting to see how many loop holes this will open up and what we come up with.
Getting a fine for running around the pitch lol isn't that his job
Our captain Kevin Nicholls got a 5 match ban for enciting the crowd or something? Lets see if the F.a has the b***** to give Adebayor the same. That will most probably be a no then!
Why is that silly pal? The F.a seem to have different rules for bigger clubs. We were deducted a total of 40 points by the F.a But West ham got off with a fine for fielding 2 illegal players? 5 Million for a club who have billionaire owners. Load of b***** they are always screwing over the smaller clubs.
I was replying "don't be silly" to them charging Adebayor the same as they charged your guy. Sorry for the mis-understanding.
Bout time, he'll probably get a three game ban and a hefty fine, or a three match ban AND one/two match ban.

Adebayor was dealt with by a yellow card, as far as I'm concerned that should be the end of that. After all, Neville only got a £5,000 fine. Why is that silly pal? Matt is right. If a player has been dealt with by the referee in the match, then the F.A have no power to give him anything. Look at Bosingwa? He wen't in and kicked the back of Benayoun last season to get the ball out of play when he was holding it up at the corner flag. He recieved nothing because the referee and lines man said they saw the incident but decided not to give a warning to him.
SWP got a three match ban for kicking Delap last season after he made a bad tackle which gave Delap a red. Because SWP didn't get any word or card from the referee, he was therefore allowed to be dealt with by the F.A which is fair. So for Adebayour to get a fine or ban for the celebration is against the rules and City will easily remove that ban. Other than that, he should be recieving no more than a three match ban then right now?
