Default Just ordered Turtle Beach X1's

I recently decided that I would invest (a small amount) in some Turtle Beach X1 gaming headphones. I have read reviews that have all said that they are great. I looked at the price and decided that £42 was a decent price. Placed the order today and they should be with me on thursday.

I was just going to ask, does anyone here have them and if they think they are good / any setup tips etc. Thanks. Tom.

My brother ordered them a few days ago so they should be here like.. in the morning and I think he's pre-ordered CoD:MW2. So in other words, I'm getting MW with TBs for free .

They're good.. I can't stand them on a very loud volume though.
That's why we seize the moment, try to freeze it and own it, squeeze it and hold it cause we consider these minutes golden.

Great. I heard that they give you a great hearing advantage on games like search and also that they give you the upper hand in one and one situations as you can hear their movement better.

I'll use them in other games, obviously. But the reason I bought them was to play Call of Duty, yes.

I'll give a brief review of them.
I've had my X1's for about 6 months now, they are a really good headset for casual gaming. They'll improve your game a bit though it isnt all to do with the headsets. I've seen people who have Astro's and still cant win FFA's. It'll only benefit you if you play a certain playstyle, obviously if you rush in to an enemy spawn your still going to die. This headset and any other only benefit people who are patient. Dead Silence is a pain though, you cant hear anyone with Dead Silence, well you can but only on max volume which deafens you and even then you cant really hear them.
The chat-lead supplied breaks easily imo, the wires are a bit annoying and thats why Im upgrading to wireless. The sound is crisp clean, bass is clear although it's only stereo which is kind of a bummer but a 5.1 headset would cost a lot more. They are good for basic public gaming. If you want to hear Dead Silence in COD then you'd need to buy a better headset AXPro's or A40's but they are a good product.

    sums it up really.

they're good, more advanced and if you're playing snd you'll be hearing a lot. rush game modes aren't the best, you're preoccupied already. they take a little while to get used to, you need to find out where the game sound and mic sound should be so take time to ajust it to the settings that suit you. you don't want to turn them right up and get blown up by a grenade!

I've got a pair of x3's and there great, aslong as you pay attention to the game cues such as footsteps which you can now hear, you'll become better.

If you don't listen to all the game cues that you can now hear with a headset, then you will be no better than you already were.

The sound quality is great however, and sometimes i just use them to listen to music when im on my pc.
