Shockwaves normally hold for longest but you can get some good waxes and things like that from pound shops which last for like 6?9 hours.

Make sure you evenly spread the gel all over ur hands before putting it in. Or it will look blotchy.

    For thin hair:

Hairspray should have the desired holding and shaping effect for thin hair, but another option is to use Matt Clay or putty sparingly by working a small amount in your fingers and running it through your hair. Make sure you do not use too much, one or two millilitres should be about right.

    For normal hair:

Hairspray can have the desired holding and shaping effect for normal hair, but another option is to use a little more Matt Clay or putty than as for thin hair by working a small amount in your fingers (or very thinly in the palm of your hand) and running it through your hair. Make sure you do not use too much, two millilitres should be about right.

    For thick hair:

Use a more permanent hair styling product - such as glue or resin - to produce the desired holding and shaping effect.

You can use the same method as for normal hair. The spikes may droop, but one fix is to hold the tip of the spike between your thumb and forefinger and to dry it with a high heat, low blow hair dryer. The spikes should stay in place, but you can use hairspray to be sure.

    Tips:

Make as many spikes in your hair as you want, and as thick as you want.
Make sure that you shave the hair on back of your neck.
    Wash your hair daily.
When making spikes on back of your head, take another mirror and hold it behind you at an angle.
Matt Clay is an excellent option, because it's very easy to wash out, and still produces the desired effect

I would reccomend using wax, if your hair is quite long, as it has a stiffer effect than most Gel's. It all depends on the thickness of your hair though really, as some hair is more "bouncier" than others
