    Default Xbox Media sharing HELP!

Ok, so ive had this problem EVER SINCE I GOT MY XBOX which was bout 2 years ago.

Ive NEVER been able get a connection between my computer and my xbox.

I use Ethernet connection and the ethernet goes from the xbox to the router and my computer goes from ethernet to my router....

I have a BT Home Hub 2.0 (the black one)

I have my Xbox's IP, Subnet, gateway, DNS ectt..... and i have my computers one ect...

I jsut want to know how the **** to get them all together and let them share... im guessing i just need to add them into my router somehow because it seems like thats the problem atm.

    I have Windows XP
I have Windows Media Player 11
I have everything connected and all of them are turned on.

I can get on the internet fine with both of them.

    Help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You need to follow the Media Centre guide on the Xbox, it'll give you a code to enter on media player to set it up for sharing. Then when you wanna watch something off of your computer just go to videos then select a device (your computer) then browse through it.

I remember doing it slightly differently with a piece of software, but I cant remember if that was on the PC or Mac.

Have you tried following this guide: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/xpsp2.htm

I don't think it's even XP compatable, you know Microsoft they want you to buy their OS in order for you to use it probably.

I certainly remember doing it on Windows XP but it was a fair bit back, i.e. when I first got my 360. I seem to remember using a piece of software, rather than doing it through Media Player itself.
