Internet Problem - Help

Hey all, I am having a very bad internet problem.

Ever since me and my family have moved to a new location, my download speed went really down. and my signal strength keeps going from Good to, Low then really Low and sometimes it goes to "No Signal" I'm using a wireless card on my PC to connect to the modem, which is downstairs.

So I said to myself, I'll get my own modem ect... and the highest download speed we can get, is 2.5mbps... now that sucks... so I dunno what to do, maybe one of you tech gurus could help me?

I went onto the speedtest site and here is what I got:

Try connecting using ethernet then do a speed test.
Also
If you've moved to a new location, it could be further away from the telephone exchange, in which case. Nothing can be done.

But yeh, try ethernet first, if it's faster (whihc obv will be), then you need to repostion your computer/router or invest in some wireless "N" equiptment.
