Well Ive never used photoshop, always use paint.net

However, we are using photoshop at school next lesson for btec IT, so I downloaded it to get used to it, within about 3hours I got this really bad layout haha, but for my first ever (considering PS is not newb friendly?) i think its OK lol, nav is from a tutorial

I don't see how that is relevant to his layout.

It's not bad for a first, but I think you should make the nav a little less tall and vertically centre the text

Nice mate, I really like it.

You say it's not bad considering photo shop isn't ''noob friendly'' and I think it's really good, even if you think it's only not bad.

    Good job, +rep.
