Default Bagpuss is set to make TV comeback

Bagpuss - the most important, the most beautiful, the most magical saggy old cloth cat in the whole wide world - could be returning to TV screens.

Production company Coolabi has struck a deal with the show's creators to make a new series of the much-loved animation.
Broadcast magazine reported that the company agreed terms with Peter Firmin and Dan Postgate - son of the late Oliver Postgate, Firmin's creative partner - in the summer.
Coolabi has held the distribution and merchandising rights to Bagpuss, Ivor The Engine and The Clangers for several years, but the new deal allows them to make new shows.
Chief executive Jeremy Banks told Broadcast: "We are going to work closely with the (Firmin and Postgate) families because they are the brand custodians and know so much more about what went into Bagpuss than we ever could.
"They have embraced the concept of developing new content."
The project is still at an early stage, he added, and no decision has been made about the style of animation that might be used, nor have any broadcasters been approached.

Omg I can't actually wait if it does It was a wicked program haha.

Btw, lots of old shows are starting to come back, so expect a special one at Christmas but I forgot the name of the show, it was last on 1996.

I read this in The Sun and I agree with why it shouldn't be started again. And I quote

So Bagpuss should be left alone to carry on his casual afternoon naps and quiet adventures in Emily's peculiar shop. Each of the 13 episodes is so lovingly crafted and quintessentially British they have stood the test of time
I totally agree with everything he's saying. It should be best left alone to barsk in it's glory as it currently stands.

What's next? The Clangers? Thunderbirds? Bill and Ben? Oh wait... Producers should stop revamping old classics for new generations, it just doesn't work. It ruins everything that made the show special in the first place. The 70s must have been wonderful because most things were new and original, unlike todays recycled crap.
