Need a new headset + mic

Hey,

I'm looking to spend about £35 on a new headset and mic, not a lot, but I know you can get some fairly alright stuff for that price.

I need them for Skype, games, music etc and was looking at the "Creative Fatil1ty Gaming Headset" but wanted some input from someone else.

I have the Creative one, it's very very good and comfortable. Sound is brilliant and the mic quality is outstanding. It can break easily though if you like to fiddle with the wires though, such as wrapping them round your fingers.

tbh, I like the look of them, but I always end up breaking headphones in some way after about 6 months anyway, through, as Stephen said, wire fiddling/chewing and general carelessness

You got a pair? - At £80 though it is a little out of budget

I'd suggest just get a decent pair of headphones for about £20-25, and then buying a standard desktop microphone for £5-10. I've always been impressed with these personally, such great audio quality for the price: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-H...dp/B0007XJSQC/

I used to have these, there £30 and there very nice and comfortable around the ears, I would recommend it if your are not wanting to spend loads on a headset!

Get some bubble wrap, selotape and another wire from old set of headphones.

Wrap in bubble wrap. Seloptape on.

Attach wire to one headphone, selotape on, fiddle with that.

I have the Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000. I've had it for about a year and can't fault it, it's insanely comfortable even without any cushioning on the top, I always forget I'm wearing it and try and walk away from the computer and get pulled back Sound quality is excellent, clear mic, costs circa £15. You couldn't get better value if you robbed it from a tramp!
