    Exclamation Attempted Kidnapping

Well about last week, we all got told that "there was a suspicious man lurking around the school for a few hours" and we were told to be extra safe and dont go home alone.

So after a day or two, everybody forgot about it and we didnt really care and thought it was nothing.

The following day (or two) we had a "special assembly" telling us that someone attempted to "abduct" (that word made me lol for some reason) a girl.

I dont know who the girl was but she was walking to school at about 10am (obv late) and a man comes out the car and tries to get her in the car, hitting her etc. She manages to run away and goes to the safest place near her (the school) and our school then pass it onto the police.

The scary thing is, the same thing happened numerous times not far from my school.

(This was like 3-4 days ago)

So today, we finished early at 1 oclock and me and my friends are walking to the bus stop. A strange black jeep goes past us and begins to slow down, but we dont notice it much. Then it started beeping at us and stopped and a man poked his head out the door and was like waving us in as in like "come here, come on in." So me and my friends were like ***?

And the guy gets out the car and starts to run at us. We start running and then we notice the guy gets back in the car and drives off...

Its just so scary and I dont feel safe anymore. Gonna report it to the Headteacher on Monday, cos after all I think she does need to know.

    Scary things happening, scary things.

the one thing you have to do if you see anything suspicious which relates to the whole issue is jot the registration down of the vehicle you seen. Just pass it on to the police and they'll deal with it.

Things like this happen a lot around the UK, you just have to think fast, get somewhere safe and have a good vision of the vehicle so you can quickly write it down, whether its on your hand, your arm, any body part...

    it's a scary world...

    What age are you?

Sickos like this tend to be threatened by people who look older (i.e height)

Sorry but I would be a bit freaked out too if some guy tried to abduct a girl, I'm surprised it wasn't on the news or something like that?

I remember hearing something about how this girl was walking to school and a guy got out of a van and like picked up and shoved her in. The girl somehow managed to get out as it was driving past the school, she ran in and told reception and they obviously told the police, it was later broadcasted on the news.

I would try not to lose sleep over it though, people like who tried to kidnap that girl who goes to your school, and actually fails in the process obviously aren't that smart, so if they ended up kidnapping someone from your school the chances are he'd be found out within a few days lol. Not saying it's okay to just do what you want and hop into cars etc, and it was very smart of you to not go anywhere near the guy who was waving at you.

Yhh... I did glance at the number plate at first but when he was waving we were like ***? is he talkin' to us? and then when he ran we sorta ran off and didnt have time to remember the NP.
I did remember the mark of the car, I was wuite sure it was a Nissan but I wasnt concentrating much tbh and my friend told me it was a Mercedes-benz.

And yhh, i think it should of been on the news but I think they tried to keep it quiet.

WHAT THE :rude: Cutbrakes! Why'd you run away from me like that the other day? That was me so obviously, I told you I'd come and give you a ride home.

Jeez, some people just can't accept a favor anymore

I've had it happen to me when I was younger, I was biking home down the road past a school and a white van halfway up the road stopped and the man got out and lent on his car looking at me. Luckily for me I had been told to be aware of this and I turn't around and biked to a mates.

    I would be cautious, hang around in large groups and never be alone. Funny enough, I live in this risk of being kidnapped most of my life now, being why I have house security. The following is what the police would tell you, I have been briefed on this many times so I am always alert;

    • Stay in large groups
    • Never approach near to someone in a car, if it be female or male. Just shout to them what they want, if they cannot hear you then continue on your way
    • If someone does chase you, run into a populated area, if you are not near somewhere run as far away as possible, sharp turnings around objects is more likely to lose the person chasing you. Drop anything that may weigh you down, bags etc. If this isnt as heavy, then there isn't all the need as it could include personal information that the kidnapper may find useful. But if its something that could restrict you in tight areas (e.g jumping a fence) or getting caught, could lead to trouble.
    • If you are running and someone is near, ask them to help you. Don't be afraid, usually the public will be more than happy to fight off someone for a young person.
    • On my mobile, I have had a speed dial for 999 put into it, also I can shout Police Police into my phone and it will dial for me, this saves me the trouble of dialing if in trouble. Also this sends a alert to my house security straight away. It's a good idea to get a speed dial of some sort.
    • Never ever, stop to try and fight them off. Your bodys flight or fight response should start, you will be able to run faster and longer so never doubt this.

You must definitely alert you Head Teacher, as well as parent/careers and report this to the Police. Don't use the 999 line but instead use the non-emergency line.

Things like this happen a lot and it takes a lot for it to make the news. I live 15 minutes away from that school as well so I'll have a look out for the car (but I'll need a better description, e.g. car model, colour, year. Also who was driving? how many suspects were they? How old did they look? And what were there appearance?

Yh, we were told the same things. I did tell my parents and definately telling the Head and if that girl that nearly got kidnapped saw the same colour car and stuff, then she knows what to look out for.

I did want to alert the police aswell because there is normally police on bikes but when you need them they're never bloody there!

And the area where my school is (Gorton) well not the area, the street where I go to shall I say, it is filled with Romanians. I remember in Year 7= No Romanians Now= Half the School.

The guy didnt look english, more romanian... and there were two. One was driving and the other one came out. Might of been more at the back, didnt see cos windows were black.

On-Topic: Are knives legal at your school though?
