Forum Updates - 8th November

It has almost been one month since the last updates, so today we've got a whole juicy bunch of changes that have been made! Today's forum updates include:

• New forum rule - Rule A17
• Change of "Report Infraction Problems"
• Clarification of rule A11
• Infraction updates
• Change of the introductory PM
• Unfiltering

Today we are adding a new rule to the forum and this one is fairly simple.

Rule:

A17. Do not make more than one forum account -It is against the rules to create more than one forum account. The only exception to this rule is where your original account has been permanently banned.

So from now on if you have more than one forum account the youngest one will be banned. The only exception is that if your original account has been permanently banned. So you no longer allowed to have more than one active forum account.

We have decided to change the "Report Infraction Problems" thread with different wording and added information regarding the correct way to report any problems.

REPORT INFRACTION PROBLEMS

If you feel you have received an unfair infraction from a Moderator you may post here with details of the infraction and a Super Moderator will review it and decide whether or not the infraction is 'fair'.

Please do not PM Super Moderators or Administrators about infractions - you will only be referred here. All infractions must be posted in this thread before they will be reviewed

You MUST include:
- Date of the infraction.
- The name of the moderator that gave you the infraction.
- The reason you consider the infraction to be unfair.

If your infraction was issued by a Moderator a Super Moderator will review the infraction for you. If your infraction was issued by a Super Moderator, either member of the Forum Management team will review the infraction for you.

Please note: All report infractions are looked into, please be patient while it is being done and not report the same infraction more than any one time.

Over the past couple of months, it has been mentioned a couple of times that the pointless posting rule is a little confusing in places. Therefore it has been changed slightly, so as to clarify what may be classed as pointless posting.

The rule was:

A11. Do not post pointlessly – A pointless post has no relevance to the topic, any previous post or is meaningless (ghnrgher etc). A pointless thread either has no meaning, is something posted that is not true (e.g. false story in news and rumours) or a thread that doesn't prompt a discussion (eg. post the colour of socks you're wearing).

it now reads:

A11. Do not post pointlessly– A pointless post has no relevance to the topic, any previous post that is relevant, is meaningless (ghnrgher etc) or does little to contribute to the discussion. A pointless thread either has no meaning, is something posted that is not true (e.g. false story in news and rumours) or a thread that doesn't prompt a discussion (eg. post the colour of socks you're wearing). Replying to a pointless post will also be considered pointlessly posting.

We have made a few small changes to the infractions available to our Moderators:

• "Posting private content" infraction and "Giving out / asking for personal information" infraction merged and titled "Posting private content".
• "Signature / Avatar violation" and "Profile violation" merged and titled "Profile Rule Violation"
• Introduction of a "Being rude to other forum members" infraction.

The first two are mere technicalities. The final change has been made to clarify the "Inappropriate Post / Thread" infraction from rudeness.

The PM sent to any new members on the forum has been updated to fit with the recent drop of the moderated post amount from 15 to 5.
